Protection and Advocacy
Equip for Equality. Equip for Equality is the Protection and Advocacy agency for people in Illinois.
Equip for Equality's Ticket to Work Project. The Ticket to Work Project assists individuals with disabilities in Illinois who receive Social Security benefits with information and advice regarding vocational rehabilitation and employment services, as well as provides advocacy or other services that beneficiaries with disabilities may need to secure, regain, or retain employment.
Equip for Equality's Training Institute on Disability Rights. The Training Institute works to empower people with disabilities and their family members to become more effective advocates for themselves in everyday life.
National Disability Rights Network. NDRN is the national body for the federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) system.

Job Accommodation Network (JAN). JAN is an excellent resource for finding information concerning reasonable accommodations.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The EEOC enforces employment cases under Title I of The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other employment discrimination cases.
DBTAC: Great Lakes ADA Center. DBTAC: Great Lakes ADA Center is a great resource for ADA information. The website contains numerous resources and the Center offers numerous learning opportunities.

Chicago Commission on Human Relations (CCHR). CCHR enforces the Chicago Human Rights Ordinance protecting the rights of people with disabilities and others who encounter discrimination.

Cook County Commission on Human Rights. The Cook County Commission on Human Rights enforces the Cook County Human Rights Act protecting the rights of people with disabilities and others who encounter discrimination.

Chicagoland Business Leadership Network.
Health Benefits for Workers with Disabilities (HBWD). Helps people with disabilities return to work with full Medicaid health care benefits. The program provides health benefits for workers with disabilities.
Health and Disability Advocates (HDA). Seeks to assure that low-income older adults, children and adults with disabilities lead secure and dignified lives. HDA advocates for policies that promote economic security and provide health coverage.
Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is the lead state agency responsible for improving Illinois' competitiveness in the global economy. Guided by an innovative regional approach, DCEO administers a wide range of economic and workforce development programs, services and initiatives designed to create and retain high quality jobs and build strong communities. DCEO leads the Illinois economic development process in partnership with businesses, local governments, workers and families.
disabilityworks. disabilityworks, an exciting initiative from the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the City of Chicago, is designed to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities throughout Illinois.
Chicagoland Business Leadership Network (CBLN). The Chicagoland Business Leadership Network (CBLN) is a business-to-business consortium that allows members to network, gain best practices, and get information regarding recruiting, hiring and retaining qualified workers with disabilities. The mission of the CBLN is to allow employers to understand, utilize, and benefit from people with disabilities in both the labor and consumer markets.
